    Return to Hohenwald IV
Barring untold disasters of global or biblical proportions, we intend to host the RTH IV on April 22-25, 2021 at the Natchez Trace Wilderness Preserve near Hohenwald, TN.

This area has some of the best roads in middle Tennessee.  Also, some of the better destinations are the Jack Daniels & George Dickle's Distillery, the Shiloh Battlefield, Pickwick Dam to name just a few.

    Camping
The campground has blocked out 10 cabins for our use. Prices listed reflect our discount as a group.  RV sites are also available if you're interested.
    Campground Map

    Standard Cabin (sleeps 4) from Thursday-Sunday: $228.57

    Deluxe Cabin (sleeps 4) from Thursday-Sunday: $336.57

Tent camping (near the shower house): $30.29/night

Because this is a Social, contact Debra or Jana at 931-796-3211 to make your own arrangements.  When you do, don't forget to mention you are with the COG for the discount.

    Meals
There will be supper Thursday thru Saturday.  But you will be on your own for breakfast and lunch.  There are restaurants in Hohenwald (about 10-15 minutes away).

Kenny has volunteered his talents to entertain us on Saturday night again.  For those not familiar with Kenny, it's safe to say it'll be worth the price of admission.  With any luck, we'll be able to pull this off this time - time will tell.

    Special Announcement Regarding COVID-19
While there are signs that this pandemic will be brought under control in 2021, none of the medical experts are ready to commit to an exact date.  As such, some procedural changes will be required to help everyone feel more comfortable and safer while we are all under the threat of COVID-19.  We anticipate that mask requirements may still be in place, so please plan to bring your own mask/face covering for when you are in public places or in close proximity to others.

To create a safe and enjoyable event for everyone, all participants must agree to the following:

    1. Each person will be responsible for monitoring their own health.  If you have a fever, coughing, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, fatigue, and/or body aches, or if you have been in close contact with someone who has recently tested positive, please stay at home.
    2. Use hand sanitizer and practice hand washing during the event and before every meal.
    3. SOCIAL DISTANCING and MASKS will be required while moving through the serving lines.
    4. The event plans and procedures may be subject to change based on new requirements.

    Registration/Fees
Other than campground fees, the Social is free for members and friends of the COG, so if you don't like it, Jack or I will give your your money back.

Please don't forget to register so we can get a headcount for food

    Wisconsin Spring Tech Session

Greg Lane has  graciously offered to host this year's Wisconsin Tech Session. Greg has been a COG member for over 20 years, please plan on attending and enjoying Greg's and Pat's hospitality.  If you have no work to do on your bike, please plan to attend just for the view of the Mississippi (awesome), camaraderie and some BS.  Greg has one unusual bike that is sure to  draw  attention.

The biggest issue at most rallies is someone picking up hardware in a tire. Plan on bringing your tire plugging kit, and practicing a plug or 2.  Glue will be provided.

Plus, Greg has a Harbor Freight tire changer if anyone wants to try mounting tires, or maybe work on some fork seals, or help with other peculiarities you may be having with your ride.

Greg will provide soft drinks, coffee, and tea, so there is no reason to pack drinks.  Greg and I will debate who has the best pizza in the area, Great River Roadhouse or Pork's.  Kim will treat accordingly.

We have negotiated a rate of $110 per night (+8% tax), which is a significant saving from the hotel’s usual rate. This includes a continental breakfast between 7:30-10:00 am if COVID restrictions allow.  At a minimum there will be some grab & go breakfast items.

This cozy and well-kept hotel has a lovely indoor pool in a separate building with lounge area and Jacuzzi, a spacious outdoor deck with fire pit, a small cozy basement lounge, a small breakfast nook. and a tire-kicking friendly parking lot. Some hotel amenities are subject to change depending on COVID restrictions.

All 29 rooms at Hotel Vienna are being held for COG. The hotel does not have a large enough space for all of us to hang out or have a group dinnerThis event will have limited attendance, initially capped at 60 people. If the hotel fills up, there is other nearby lodging.

All rooms have a balcony and mini fridge.  Room layouts are as follows:

    • 10 rooms have 2 two queen bed
    •  6 rooms have a king bed and a twin bed
    • 13 rooms have one king bed

We implore you to be considerate when reserving a room, and ask for the layout that would be most efficient to make certain that anyone who is making a reservation is able to procure a bed.  For example, if you are solo or a couple, please don’t reserve a room with two beds.  The hotel staff will be happy to steer you through this and advise you on what room might be best for you, since they have several different room/bed floorplans.

    Additional Lodging:

If the Hotel Vienna becomes fully booked there is other lodging nearby, but there are no negotiated rooms or prices other than at Hotel Vienna. You are on your own to secure alternate lodging.

      Special Announcement Regarding COVID-19
At the time of this posting (January 2021), there are promising signs that this pandemic will be brought under control in 2021.  However, because no one is certain what the world will look like in 2021, we’re asking everyone to be prepared for possible procedural changes.

Be cognizant of any quarantine rules for New York State with regard to the state that you will be traveling from.

To create a safe and enjoyable event for everyone, all participants must agree to the following:

      1. Each person will be responsible for monitoring their own health.  If you feel sick, or if you've been in close contact with someone who has recently tested positive, please stay home.
      2. Use hand sanitizer and practice hand washing during the event and before every meal.
      3. Bring a mask and be prepared to follow local guidelines regarding masks and social distancing.
      4. Event plans and procedures may be subject to change based on new requirements.

      Camping
One of our very own COG members will be hosting this camping event on his farmstead near Austin, KY, which is located approximately 7.5 miles southeast of Barren River Lake State Park.  There will be 50 amp electrical service for a couple RV's and additional electrical hookups for low amperage needs.  An outdoor shower and bathroom are available for the gentlemen, while the ladies will have access to the facilities in the house.

This is a camping event, but for those not interested in camping, the Barren River State Park has a limited number of lodge rooms, as well as cottages for rent.
There are also hotels available in nearby Glasgow, KY or Scottsville, KY (both are approximately 15-20 miles away).

      Food
We will have a catered BBQ dinner on Saturday evening and breakfast will be provided Friday and Saturday mornings, and a light breakfast on Sunday morning.  Dinner on Thursday and Friday will be hamburgers, hot dogs, and chips.

      Special Announcement Regarding COVID-19

To create a safe and enjoyable event for everyone, all participants must agree to the following:

      1. Each person will be responsible for monitoring their own health.  If you have a fever, coughing, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, fatigue, and/or body aches, or if you have been in close contact with someone who has recently tested positive, please stay at home.

Independence Ride | Big W BBQ Meet n Greet

This is the annual COG NE Independence Ride for BBQ... with a twist for 2021.  We have changed it up by doing a ride first (with a bit of local Revolutionary War history), followed by a group lunch at Big W BBQ.

      Independence Ride

The Independence Ride will follow the 42 mile route Sybil Ludington made on horseback during a rainy night in 1777 to rally the militia and alert them to the British attack of Danbury, CT.  Read about Sybil and the ride we will take in this short Backroads Magazine article:
      https://issuu.com/backroadsmagazine/docs/may2013/16

We will meet-up (or "muster" as they would say during the Revolutionary) at the Kent Park & Ride - Exit 58 (Ludingtonville Rd) off I-84 in New York around 10:00 am, and depart promptly at 10:30 am.  This map shows the route we will take, including the ride afterwards to the Big W BBQ (a GPX file will be available). You can also meet the group at Big W BBQ.

If you're interested in the Independence Ride, and you're coming from either the NYC area or the CT area, there will be a group ride from each area to the Kent Park & Ride - Exit 58 (the muster Location).  The Park & Ride is on Ludingtonville Rd, just north of I-84 overpass.  See additional details below.

Group Ride - White Plains NY to Muster Location
Departing promptly at 9:00 am from the Dunkin Donuts at 755 N Broadway (RT 22), White Plains, NY 10603.  Arrive early if you plan to get food.  More info: email Terry Faherty or call 917 837 6634 (leave message)

Group Ride - Waterbury CT to Muster Location
Departing promptly at 9:00 am from the Family Fusion Deli at 702 Chase Pkwy, Waterbury, CT 06708.  Arrive early if you plan to get food. More info: email Steve Smith or call 203 720 7575 (leave message).

Big W BBQ Meet n Greet

Following the Independence Ride, we will arrive at the Big W Roadside BBQ in Wingdale, NY around 1:30 pm for a meet n greet and lunch.

After a prolonged hiatus of 17 years, MotoAmerica, North America's premier motorcycle road racing series, is bringing Superbike racing back to Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota, July 30-August 1, with the announcement that the series and all five of its classes will return to the land of 10,000 lakes for round seven of the 2021 MotoAmerica HONOS Superbike Series.

Additional race information can be found on BIR's website.  Tickets are now available for purchase online

If anyone wants to meet up, Jeff Kerkow and Tom Weglarz will set up their RV's late Friday morning (7/30) at the racetrack in the remote camping area (likely somewhere in the purple area circled in the map below).

Randy Schafer (rides1zg@aol.com) is planning to lead a group ride out of the Twin Cities.  Time and location TBD (check back for additional information).

The light blue lines show the bridge into the infield.  Finding us shouldn't be hard, just look for the large COG banner.

      Camping and Lodging
Camping is free with a multi-day ticket.  Shower trailers and bathrooms were available the last time I was there.  Jeff and Tom will have power for charging gadgets.

      Food
Food will be determined once we have a headcount (so please register if you're planning to attend).  We will have grills, kitchens, coolers for "beverages", etc.

Please register for the event online to help us get a headcount and plan the amount of food needed for the cookouts

      Special Announcement Regarding COVID-19
At the time of this posting (March 2021), wide-spread vaccinations hold promise for ending this pandemic, but it won't happen overnight.  Therefore, we're asking everyone to be prepared for possible procedural changes.

      Registration & Fees
Registration will be done online through the COG website.  There are no registration fees, but we're asking everyone to register online so we have an idea of how much food will be needed.  Donations will be accepted at the event to help defray the cost of groceries.
Online registration will close at 11:59 pm CDT on Friday, July 23, 2021
      .

      Run with the Wolf
The 2021, 27th edition of Run with the Wolf is open for registration.  This year’s rally committee is made up of Mike Laven and Ron Simmons (with guidance and support from Jerry Holland).

All are welcome to this four day rally, so if you are considering a full membership in the Concours Owners Group (COG), please come and meet us, see how we do things in SECOG, and maybe you'll be convinced to become a member.  We might grow on you, and you'll meet some great people who love to ride.

If you are unable to come for the full four days, come for as long as you can. But please don't miss the biggest rally in the southeast area.  Hopefully this year will be beautiful weather and we can have a full house (and be on the downside of COVID, dog gone it!).

The Southeast members are known to enjoy a good bonfire, so we'll have a large common area for our nightly fire.  As our members are also known to go late into the night around the fire, we've made arrangements to have a good supply of wood available.  SECOG members are the most experienced campers in all of COG, so expect all of the usual things that we like.

      Food
Included in the rally fee is a Saturday night banquet BBQ dinner catered by the TWoS staff.  Remember to wear the wristband you will receive at check-in to the banquet dinner (no wristband = no dinner).  Having a headcount is also crucial for the TWoS staff to plan for our meal (so please try to register early!).

      Camping & Lodging

      Camping
Two Wheels of Suches (TWoS), also known as TWO (Two Wheels Only), has been totally remodeled, featuring all new bath houses and rest rooms, and the main lodge has gone through a complete rebuild, with a new kitchen and loft sleeping quarters.  Due to issues surrounding Covid and downturn of attendance this past year and need to support TWO, the camping rate is now $15 over night.  Dang - that's reasonable!

Once again this year, TWoS will have 3 camp sites that will have electricity available for those who need it (e.g., if you have a CPAP or a need where electricity is important to your health).

You don't need to make reservations if you are tent camping.

      Cabins
TWoS also has 8 cabins available for booking.  These will go fast, so make your reservation as soon as possible.

To check on availability or make a reservation for one of the cabins or a lodge room, use TWoS' new online booking system at https://twowheelsofsuches.com/contact-us/ or call (706) 973-1671.

      Lodge Rooms
TWoS also has a limited number of lodge rooms available on a first come first served basis.  Make your reservations early for a lodge room or a cabin if you don't plan to tent camp.  Mention COG when booking a cabin or lodge room.

      RV Parking
There is limited RV parking but NO hookups at TWoS.  If you need/want hookups, there are other camping resorts nearby.  Please google those.

      Special Announcement Regarding COVID-19
At the time of this posting (early 2021), there is hope that this pandemic will be brought under control in 2021.  However, no one is certain what the world will look like in 2021, so we’re asking everyone to be prepared for possible changes.

      3. Bring a mask and be prepared to follow local guidelines regarding masks and social distancing.
      4. Event plans and procedures may be subject to change based on new requirements.

      Registration/Fees
Registration fee is $30.00 for COG Members/Associate Members, and $40.00 for guests and non-members (including Forum-Only subscribers).

When you arrive, look for the COG check in point on the deck to the left of the lodge.  At check-in, you will receive a wristband that will be needed for the banquet dinner on Saturday.  Look forward to seeing you there!

Registration closes at 11:59 pm (EDT) on September 1, 2021.

      Cancellation/Refund Policy
Cancellations will be accepted up through September 1, 2021.  Refunds will be paid by check (minus a $10 administration fee) and sent via USPS after the event.  There will be no refunds for cancellations made after 09/01/21.

To create a safe and enjoyable event for everyone, we are asking all participants to agree to the following:
