Independence Ride | Meet n Greet

Join us for the annual COG NE Independence Ride for BBQ... with a twist for 2021.  We have changed it up by doing a ride first (that has a bit of local Revolutionary War history), stopping for a BBQ lunch during the ride. 

Independence Ride

The Independence Ride will follow the 42 mile route Sybil Ludington made on horseback during a rainy April 26, 1777 night to rally the militia and alert them to the British attack on Danbury, CT.  Read about Sybil and the ride we will take in this short Backroads Magazine article:

We will meet-up (or "muster" as they would say during the Revolutionary) at the Kent Park & Ride - Exit 58 (Ludingtonville Rd) off I-84 in New York at 10:00 am, and departing around 10:30 am.  You can also meet us only for the meet & greet lunch (see below).

Travel to the Ride

If you're interested in the Independence Ride, and you're coming from either the NYC/Westchester County area or the CT area, there will be a group ride from each area to the Kent Park & Ride - Exit 58 (the muster Location).  The Park & Ride is on Ludingtonville Rd, just north of I-84 overpass.  

Group Ride - White Plains NY to Muster Location

Meet n Greet BBQ Lunch

About mid-way through the Independence Ride, we will stop for a meet & greet lunch (approx 11:30 AM) at Round Up Texas BBQ, 2741 U.S. 9, Cold Spring, NY 10516.  (see map below)

Registration/Fees
There are no registration fees. Please register online so we know how many people to expect at the meetup spots, and to be able to contact via email if there are changes or cancellation due to inclement weather.
