Rhododendron Tour - Day 3
For Day 3, the ride will start near milepost 388 of the Blue Ridge Parkway. We will meet at the Shell gas station at 1578 Hendersonville Rd, Asheville, NC and depart at 9 am.
During this day we will conclude the southerly Blue Ridge Parkway route and ride some premier smoky mountain routes. Riders should expect 240 miles of twisty mountain roads, two 30-min featured stops: First the summit of Mt Mitchell; highest U.S. point east of the Mississippi River. Then Craggy Gardens visiting area.
From the Blue Ridge we will have a loop around parts of the Smokey Mountain National Park to include routes such as:
Registration required for adequate space reservations.
Information will also be shared on the COG Forum Discussion of the Rhododendron Tour.
Registration/Fees
We don't have any registration fees; however, we kindly request that all participants register online. This will allow us to gauge the number of attendees and plan accordingly. Knowing how many riders to expect not only helps us coordinate meet-up logistics but also enables us to plan restaurant stops effectively.
