Scott & Lisa Coberly's North Central Winter Social

If you’re tired of winter and anxious to start thinking about motorcycling again, Lisa and I have something for you. We thought it would be fun to get together with COG friends and decided to plan a winter social at our home.

We live in Swisher, IA which is just outside of Cedar Rapids and centrally located in the North Central Region. The location isn’t TOO far for anyone with an interest in getting together for the weekend. Considering its winter, our weather is generally warmer than some of our northern members endure and generally isn’t so cold to scare away those living in a slightly warmer region.

When: Friday, February 7 to Sunday, February 9th. You are welcome any time on Friday... and then get the hell out by Sunday 9th ;-).

Where: Eastern Iowa—My home address: 1226 Winchester Circle NE Swisher, IA (10 minutes south of Cedar Rapids). I have a clean, dry basement space to lay your bedroll, plenty of heated garage bay, or if you’re into winter camping bring your tent. If you prefer more privacy, lodging in Cedar Rapids is 10 minutes away with plenty of suitable options for your budget.

Food: Menu in the works but trust me you will be taken care of. BYOB cooler/refrigerator space available. water/soda provided.

Entertainment: General BS’ing and swapping lies mostly. There is a well-known, award-winning local winery/distillery just up the road, the Cedar Ridge Winery/Distillery. They offer tours on Saturday with tastings. If there is enough interest, we can put together a road trip.

We have suggested a donation of $35 to cover the cost of food and beverage for the weekend. Your help is appreciated. I think we can accomodate upt o 15 participants. Your provide your bedroll, chair of choice, cooler/refrigeration provided.

As noted above, there is no registration fee. However, there is a suggested donation of $35 to cover the cost of food and beverage for the weekend. Please register online (or RSVP me directly at: scoberly@coralville.org) so I have an idea of how many people are coming.

Registration will close at 11:59 pm on Sunday, February 2nd. If you need to cancel after Sunday, February 2nd, please send Scott a quick email so he can plan accordingly.
